Perdoceo Education Corporation Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach impacting Perdoceo Education Corporation.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were affected.
Perdoceo Education Corporation, which operates several academic institutions, has reported that the personal information of current and former students may have been exposed in a data breach experienced by Financial Business and Consumer Solutions, Inc. (FBCS), which was engaged by the schools for debt collection purposes.
The incident was discovered on February 26, 2024, revealing that certain systems on the FBCS network were exposed to unauthorized access between February 14 and February 26, 2024. The breach involved exposure of personal data, including information held on behalf of Perdoceo Education Corporation schools. Current and former students are now receiving notice (an example of which can be seen below) specifying the types of data exposed in the Financial Business and Consumer Solutions data breach.
Perdoceo Education Corporation (formerly known as Career Education Corporation) owns Colorado Technical University, American InterContinental University, California Southern University and Trident University International, and it operated Le Cordon Bleu culinary schools until their closure in September 2017.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Perdoceo Education Corporation to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
