Paychex Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Paychex data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Paychex discovered on April 30, 2024, that during the mandatory exchange of unclaimed property information with the State of California, a data breach occurred. Specifically, the company reported that personal details, including full names and Social Security numbers, were inadvertently disclosed to an unauthorized individual on March 22, 2024. Notices of the Paychex data breach are expected to be sent out, but it is unknown at this time how many people may be affected. The data breach has been reported to the California attorney general.
Paychex offers integrated human capital management solutions for human resources, employee benefits, insurance and payroll services.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Paychex to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
