Park Dental Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Park Dental data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Park Dental, which operates dozens of locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, has reported a data breach potentially affecting patient information. On January 23, 2024, the dental chain discovered unauthorized activity in a limited number of employee email accounts. In response, the company secured the accounts and, with the help of third-party cybersecurity experts, initiated an investigation.
The investigation revealed unauthorized access to certain email accounts and related file shares between January 11 and January 23, 2024. The company also determined that the incident may have compromised patients’ names, demographic details, medical and health insurance information, and dates of birth. For a limited number of individuals, the Park Dental data breach might have affected additional sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, payment card details, and full access credentials.
According to Park Dental’s online notice of the incident, a review of the potentially compromised files was completed on June 10, 2024. Shortly thereafter, the company sent letters to affected patients with available address information.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Park Dental to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
