Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Palomar Health Medical Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Palomar Health Medical Group (PHMG) has disclosed that it detected suspicious activity on its computer systems around May 5, 2024. An ongoing investigation has revealed that an unauthorized actor accessed and potentially copied files between April 23 and May 5, 2024. The incident was reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 3, 2024.
Palomar Health Medical Group is working to restore all affected files and aims to identify the individuals impacted and the specific information compromised, their online notice states. The types of data potentially exposed could include personal details such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance details, credit/debit card information, email addresses and passwords, and usernames and passwords. The Palomar Health Medical Group data breach may have also exposed medical details, including medical history, disability information, treatment information, diagnostic information, prescription information, doctor information and medical record numbers. The types of data potentially compromised will vary by individual.
Palomar Health Medical Group, which provides healthcare services in North San Diego County, will offer individualized notices to those impacted as more information becomes available.
Graybill Medical Group and Pacific Accountable Care, which are affiliates of Palomar Health Medical Group, have also posted notices on their respective websites about the data breach.
