Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the OBI Seafoods data breach.

As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.

OBI Seafoods, LLC, a producer of Alaska seafood products, recently reported a security breach impacting current and former workers and vendors of OBI and Ocean Beauty Seafoods, LLC. Detected around August 16, 2024, the breach involved unauthorized access to systems containing sensitive personal information.

Types of information that may have been exposed in the OBI Seafoods data breach includes current and former workers' names, addresses, demographic information, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical and insurance information, government IDs, and bank account details. Information concerning dependents and beneficiaries may have also been exposed if provided to OBI.

For vendors, taxpayer IDs and Social Security numbers may have been compromised.

OBI Seafoods is mailing notice to potentially affected individuals.
