NorthBay Health Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the NorthBay Health data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
California-based NorthBay Healthcare Corporation, also known as NorthBay Health, has disclosed a data breach involving the sensitive personal information of 569,012 individuals. The breach was detected after suspicious activity was observed on the company's network on February 23, 2024.
An investigation revealed that an unauthorized third party accessed certain files on the medical provider's systems between January 11, 2024 and April 1, 2024. The compromised files contained varying types of personal information, which may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, financial account numbers, medical data, biometric information, health insurance information, driver's license and government-issued ID numbers, as well as usernames, passwords, and payment card information, including expiration dates, security codes, and PINs for some individuals.
NorthBay Health operates two hospitals and five primary care centers in California and provides care in a number of fields including occupational medicine, pain management, oncology, gastroenterology, cardiology, pulmonology, neuroscience and more.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force NorthBay Health to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
