Nissan Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Nissan data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On November 7, 2023, Nissan North America, Inc. discovered it had fallen victim to a targeted cyberattack. The company undertook a review of the compromised data and, during this process, recently identified that the files contained personal information pertaining to some current and former employees. According to the website for the Maine attorney general's office, the Nissan data breach exposed Social Security numbers, though notices being sent to affected employees note that no financial information was compromised. It has been reported that 53,038 people are impacted by the breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Nissan to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
