Monte Nido Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Monte Nido data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Monte Nido, a nationwide provider of eating disorder treatments, detected unusual activity on its network on September 22, 2023, prompting an investigation with the help of external cybersecurity experts. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor had accessed the company's systems between September 16 and September 22, 2023. The potentially compromised personal data varied by individual but could include names and one or more of the following types of information:
- Social Security numbers;
- Contact details, including addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses;
- Dates of birth;
- IDs, including driver's license numbers, government IDs, taxpayer ID numbers, passport numbers and birth certificates;
- Email addresses and passwords;
- Digital signatures;
- Financial account information, including account and routing numbers and passwords;
- Credit/debit card numbers with passwords or security codes;
- Worker's compensation claim information;
- Medical information, including medical record/patient account numbers, prescription information, dates of service, medical histories, conditions/diagnoses, and treatment details;
- Certificate or license numbers; and
- Health insurance information.
According to a notice on the company's website, those impacted by the Monte Nido data breach should receive notice of the incident if their valid mailing address is on record with the provider.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Monte Nido to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
