Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the McMurry University data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
It’s been reported that more than 17,800 individuals have been affected by a data breach targeting McMurry University, a private university in Abilene, Texas.
The school identified suspicious activity on its computer network on June 20, 2024, leading to an investigation that revealed unauthorized access by an unknown party. The McMurry University data breach occurred between June 18 and June 20, during which certain files were copied from the network. After conducting a review of the impacted files, McMurry University concluded its assessment on November 15, 2024. The investigation determined that the compromised data included personal information such as names and Social Security numbers.
