LivaNova Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the LivaNova data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
LivaNova, a medical device manufacturer, recently disclosed a cybersecurity incident that occurred around October 26, 2023 and was discovered on November 19, 2023. The breach resulted in a disruption to parts of the company's IT systems, leading to an investigation and collaboration with external cybersecurity professionals and law enforcement.
Data analyses revealed that a third party gained access to identifiable personal information of U.S. patients, including names, contact details, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical information (such as treatment and diagnoses), and health insurance information.
A total of 180,000 individuals were reportedly impacted by the LivaNova data breach, and the company is sending notice to affected patients.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force LivaNova to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
