Lifetime Psychiatry Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Lifetime Psychiatry data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Lifetime Psychiatry, based in St. Peters, Missouri, has announced a data security breach affecting patients' personal information. The incident occurred between September 25 and September 27, 2024, when an unauthorized individual gained access to an employee's email. Upon detecting the breach, the company terminated access and launched an investigation.
On October 31, 2024, it was confirmed that the intruder might have accessed sensitive personal data. This information may include patients' names, addresses, birth dates, and health insurance details, alongside clinical, diagnostic, and treatment information. A smaller group of individuals may have had their bank account details, credit card information, and Social Security numbers exposed. The data at risk was used for billing purposes, and the company notes that detailed treatment information was not exposed.
According to a report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Lifetime Psychiatry data breach affected 16,926 individuals.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Lifetime Psychiatry to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
