As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On February 14, 2025, Lake Washington Vascular experienced a data breach when an intruder accessed its network and installed malware. According to a press release on the healthcare provider's website, the malware encrypted the practice's electronic medical record and practice management systems.
Lake Washington Vascular noted that the compromised systems contain personal and health information of about 30,000 patients, including names, birth dates, addresses, government-issued IDs, diagnostic test results, medical histories, and treatment details, though it has not been determined exactly what information may have been taken or viewed by the unauthorized party. Financial information like credit card and banking details are not stored in these systems, the practice wrote.
The Lake Washington Vascular data breach impacted 21,534 people, according to a report provided to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
