SMART Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the SMART data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
The International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), a labor union, has experienced a data security incident that exposed personal information belonging to about 62,939 individuals.
After detecting unusual network activity on September 9, 2023, SMART conducted an investigation that revealed some of its files may have been acquired without authorization earlier that day. The review, completed on October 10, identified individuals whose information may have been affected. The compromised data may include personal details such as names and Social Security numbers.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force SMART to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
