Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Institute of Food Technologists data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a nonprofit focused on food science and technology, recently disclosed a security breach that occurred on April 25 and April 26, 2023. The breach involved unauthorized access to files containing information such as full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account details, credit and debit card information, driver's license numbers, usernames and passwords, digital signatures, passport numbers, and medical and health insurance information. According to a notice on IFT's website, the exposed information varied by individual. The company said it began notifying affected consumers beginning on February 28, 2024.
