Henry Schein Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Henry Schein data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Employees of Henry Schein, Inc. or its subsidiaries have been informed of a cybersecurity incident that occurred within the medical and dental supplies company. The incident was discovered on October 14, 2023 and resulted in the temporary disruption of certain business operations.
According to a letter sent to employees around November 17, the potentially compromised information includes employee names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, photographs, dates of birth, demographic and background information, government-issued identification numbers (such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and passports), financial information, medical history, employment details, IP addresses, and other personal information. The company said it would also notify and offer credit monitoring to dependents of employees whose information is maintained by the company.
Henry Schein also notified certain customers and suppliers that their information — including bank account numbers and credit card numbers — may have also been compromised in the incident.
According to news reports, infamous Russia-affiliated ransomware gang ALPHV/Black Cat has claimed responsibility for the breach. The group reportedly claimed to have stolen 35TB of sensitive data and posted samples of the information on its dark web leak site.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Henry Schein to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
