Help at Home Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Help at Home.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On March 21, 2024, a former third-party vendor of HAH Group Holding, LLC, which does business as Help at Home, alerted the company of a data breach potentially compromising sensitive personal information. Following an investigation, the vendor confirmed to Help at Home that personal data, which may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, usernames, passwords, health insurance information, and medical and treatment information, had been potentially accessed and acquired.
By June 19, 2024, the vendor had compiled a list of individuals affected by the incident. Help at Home, which specializes in providing relationship-based home care for seniors and disabled individuals, began mailing notification letters to the impacted parties on August 16, 2024.
According to a report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the data breach affecting Help at Home impacted 26,744 individuals.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Help at Home to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
