Gramercy Surgery Center, Inc., which operates facilities in Manhattan and Queens, announced a potential data breach affecting certain personal information. The cyberattack, discovered on June 18, 2024, involved unauthorized access to the healthcare provider's system between June 14 and June 17, 2024. Following an investigation, Gramercy determined by June 28, 2024, that the compromised data included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license or state identification card numbers, medical record numbers, treatment information, and health insurance information. The specific information affected varies by individual.
Gramercy is notifying those potentially impacted by the breach, according to a notice posted on its website.
DataBreaches.net reported that a threat actor known as Everest Team claimed responsibility for the Gramercy Surgery Center data breach and leaked the stolen data on the dark web on August 8.
