Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the General Physician, P.C. data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On June 12, 2024, General Physician, P.C. identified suspicious activity within its email system. The New York-based medical group initiated an investigation, aided by third-party digital forensic experts, to ascertain the nature and extent of the breach. It was later confirmed that there was unauthorized access to a General Physician, P.C. email account from April 6 to June 12, 2024, during which time the intruder had the ability to access or obtain certain information.
The review of affected information from the General Physician, P.C. data breach is still in progress but could potentially include full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account information, dates of birth, medical history information, mental and physical treatment details, diagnosis information, treating physicians, medical record numbers, health insurance details, policy numbers, subscriber numbers and group/plan numbers.
General Physician, P.C. intends to send notification letters to individuals whose protected information was involved in the breach and for whom a valid mailing address is available, once the review is completed.
