As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Frontier Communications Parent, Inc. experienced a cyber incident in which unauthorized access to some internal IT systems occurred. This breach was detected on April 14, 2024.
During an investigation, the telecommunications company discovered that the personal information of individuals had been compromised. According to the website for the Maine attorney general's office, the exposed data includes names or other personal identifiers, along with Social Security numbers.
Approximately 751,895 people were affected by the Frontier Communications data breach. The security incident was first reported in an April 18 Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission in which Frontier Communications noted that a cybercrime group was likely responsible.
