Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Form I-9 Compliance data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Form I-9 Compliance, a company that helps customers complete government-required Form I-9 documents for employment, experienced a data breach on February 5, 2024. A third party gained unauthorized access to a portion of the company's network, affecting personal information such as names or other personal identifiers and Social Security numbers. This information was obtained by the company as part of its regular course of business - that is, completing I-9 documents.
A total of 27,592 people were affected by the breach. Upon discovering the unauthorized activity on April 12, 2024, Form I-9 Compliance launched an investigation and involved external cybersecurity experts. Affected individuals should receive written notification about the Form I-9 Compliance data breach.
