Fincantieri Marine Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Fincantieri Marine Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Around April 12, 2023, Fincantieri Marine Group, a shipbuilding and repair company that also contracts with the U.S. Navy, became aware of a cyberattack on its computer systems, which involved the encryption of specific files. An investigation revealed that unauthorized access to certain systems within the environment took place between April 6 and April 12, 2023 and resulted in the acquisition of certain data stored in the systems. On November 6, 2023, it was determined that the affected files contained personal information related to individuals. These people are now being sent letters dated on or around January 5, 2024 with more information.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Fincantieri Marine Group to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
