Finastra Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Finastra data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Finastra Technology, Inc., a provider of financial software solutions, experienced a cybersecurity breach affecting its secure file transfer platform, leading to the potential exposure of personal information. The unauthorized access occurred between October 31, 2024 and November 8, 2024, allowing a third party to obtain files containing personal data from the platform, which Finastra used to provide customer and technical support. Upon discovering the breach on November 7, 2024, Finastra initiated an investigation with the help of cybersecurity firms and notified law enforcement.
The files accessed in the Finastra data breach contained personal information, including names and financial account information, according to a report provided to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
According to cybersecurity research website KrebsOnSecurity.com, a cybercriminal claimed to have stolen 400 GB of data from Finastra, listing it for sale on the dark web in early November 2024.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Finastra to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
