Exela Technologies Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Exela Technologies data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Exela Technologies, Inc. has disclosed a data breach affecting personal information. Unauthorized access was initially detected on June 19, 2022, during a cybersecurity incident for which a third party took responsibility. Exela claimed that at that time, forensic investigations did not show any evidence that personal data had been compromised. However, in early April 2024, another third party posted Exela information online, which upon review was found to include names and Social Security numbers.
According to reports, the information may have been posted by ransomware group Hunters International, which is believed to have taken over for Hive, another ransomware group that initially claimed responsibility for the June 2022 Exela Technologies data breach.
Exela Technologies is headquartered in Irving, Texas and provides business process automation solutions in the banking, healthcare, insurance and other industries.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Exela Technologies to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
