EFS Advisors Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the EFS Advisors data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
EFS Advisors, LLC, a wealth-management firm based in Minnesota, discovered on February 22, 2024 that it was the target of a data security incident. An unauthorized third party attempted to access EFS’s computer network, prompting the company to secure its network environment and launch an investigation into the matter.
The investigation revealed that the data breach was caused by a zero-day vulnerability in a software program used by an external IT provider. It was determined that personal information such as names and Social Security numbers were compromised. According to the website for the Maine attorney general's office, driver's license numbers and non-driver identification card numbers may have also been exposed in the EFS Advisors data breach, with 31,042 people reportedly affected.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force EFS Advisors to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
