Eagle Bank Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Eagle Bank.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Eagle Bank was informed by MasterCard of a security breach in a U.S. merchant’s network that may have exposed the MasterCard debit card data of its customers.
According to a sample notice submitted to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, the breach potentially compromised MasterCard account numbers and details, placing them in unauthorized hands between August 15, 2023 and May 25, 2024. Another sample notice indicates that a breach occurred from April 11 to October 4, 2024.
EagleBank reported that the events did not compromise its security measures or directly affect customer account records on file at the bank. As a precautionary measure, the bank says it will terminate existing debit cards and issue new ones to customers.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Eagle Bank to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
