Doxim Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Doxim data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Third-party service provider Doxim, Inc. announced that it detected suspicious activity on a segment of its computer network, particularly the portion that supports its credit union services, on December 30, 2023.
During the course of a subsequent investigation, it was discovered that certain files had been illicitly removed. A comprehensive review of these files revealed that some contained personal information belonging to current and former credit union members, including names, mailing addresses, account numbers, and Social Security numbers. This data had been provided to Doxim for the purpose of preparing account statements and income tax forms.
It is unclear at this point how many people are affected by the Doxim data breach. In late May 2024, a spokesperson for Truliant Federal Credit Union said it was one of the organizations impacted by the cyber security incident, which resulted in unauthorized access to Truliant files from 2012 that were in Doxim's possession. Consumers should receive letters from Doxim that include information on the data breach, as well as the name of the affected client organization.
Doxim provides customer communications management software to clients in financial, healthcare, insurance and other markets.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Doxim to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
