Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On February 28, 2024, accounting firm Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy, LLC (DA&E) experienced a cyberattack resulting in unauthorized access to certain files containing personal information. Following the network disruption, DA&E secured its systems and brought in cybersecurity experts to investigate. This investigation revealed that the breach occurred on or around the same day and that sensitive data, potentially including names, Social Security numbers, medical information, and health insurance details, may have been compromised. It wasn't until September 26, 2024, that DA&E was able to confirm the specific personal information involved.
The report provided to the Maine Attorney General's Office indicated that 82,207 individuals may have been affected by the Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
