DAP Health Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the DAP Health data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
DAP Health, Inc., along with subsidiary Borrego Health, has announced a data breach after detecting suspicious activity in its email system on July 22, 2024. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed and/or took certain files and data. DAP Health then conducted a review to identify individuals potentially impacted by this breach. On November 26, 2024, the healthcare provider determined those affected and is now notifying them by mail, provided valid addresses are available.
In a letter to impacted individuals, the healthcare provider notes that it collects information from employees, patients and clients. An online notice states that information exposed in the DAP Health data breach may include a wide range of information including names; addresses; phone numbers; birth dates; Social Security numbers; financial account numbers; driver's license, birth certificate and passport numbers; health insurance data; Medicare/Medicaid numbers; medical information (prescriptions, procedures, treatment information, test results, diagnoses, etc.); user IDs and passwords; and license plate numbers and VINs.
DAP Health is located in Palm Springs, California and provides a wide range of services including primary care, sexual health services, behavioral health, dental care, pediatric care, urgent care, OB/GYN services, and gender-affirming care.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force DAP Health to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
