On July 10, 2024, Cornerstone Bank, which has locations in North and South Dakota, identified suspicious activity involving a few employee email accounts. It was confirmed that these accounts were accessed without authorization during the Cornerstone Bank data breach, potentially compromising personally identifiable information.
The data at risk may include first and last names along with Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state ID numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, birth dates, account and routing numbers, as well as payment card numbers, PINs and expiration dates.
