Coos Health & Wellness Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Coos Health & Wellness data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Coos Health & Wellness (CHW), a provider of public and behavioral health services in Coos County, Oregon, experienced a data security incident that potentially involved personal and protected health information of individuals who received services at programs supported by CHW. The incident was discovered on April 28, 2023, and an independent digital forensics and incident response firm was engaged to investigate.
On October 12, 2023, it was determined that the incident likely resulted in unauthorized access to personal and protected health information. The exposed information may have included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification card numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
On December 15, 2023, CHW sent notification letters through the United States Postal Service to potentially impacted individuals.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Coos Health & Wellness to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
