Cooper Aerobics Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Cooper Aerobics data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Dallas-based Cooper Aerobics Enterprises, Inc., which runs a fitness center, spa, clinic, and medical imaging firm, has announced a data breach affecting more than 165,000 individuals.
In early February 2023, Cooper Aerobics became aware of a potential breach of its network. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized party may have accessed or removed data from servers containing individuals' sensitive personal information.
The impacted data may include the following: names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, financial account and routing numbers, tax identification numbers, driver’s license or government identification numbers, passport numbers, usernames and passwords, and Social Security numbers. Health-related details such as medical records or patient account numbers, prescription information, medical providers, medical procedures, health insurance carriers, and health insurance group identification or member numbers may also be affected.
On January 5, Cooper Aerobics began notifying affected individuals for whom it could determine a physical mailing address on behalf of Cooper Clinic, Cooper Medical Imaging, and Cooper Aerobics Enterprises.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Cooper Aerobics to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
