Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL), a physician-owned medical practice that specializes in providing radiology services, experienced a data security incident affecting sensitive patient information.
On February 12, 2024, CRL detected suspicious activity within its network. In response, CRL secured its network and enlisted a cybersecurity firm to investigate. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor had accessed certain files and data on the network.
According to an online notice of the incident, the Consulting Radiologists data breach compromised information including individuals’ names, dates of birth, addresses, health insurance details and medical information. Additionally, small subsets of patients had their Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, face sheets and imaging reports impacted.
