Concentra Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Concentra.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On November 10, 2023, Perry Johnson & Associates, Inc. (PJ&A) informed Concentra Health Services, Inc. about a potential security breach that may have exposed the personal information of certain individuals, including Concentra's patients. PJ&A, a provider of medical transcription services to healthcare organizations, reported that an unauthorized party gained access to its network between March 27, 2023 and May 2, 2023 and obtained copies of certain files.
The affected files contained personal health information that varied per individual but may have included names, dates of birth, addresses, medical record numbers, hospital account numbers, admission diagnoses, and dates and times of service. For some individuals, the exposed data may have also included Social Security numbers, insurance information, and clinical information from medical transcription files.
Concentra, a leading provider of occupational health services, reported that a total of 3,998,162 individuals were affected by this incident.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Concentra to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
