Communication Federal Credit Union, which has branches in Oklahoma and Kansas, recently experienced a significant data breach, with unauthorized access to its network occurring between December 31, 2023 and January 11, 2024. Suspicious activity was initially identified on January 11, prompting action to secure the company's systems and launch an investigation. A data-review firm identified that files exposed in the Communication Federal Credit Union data breach contained personal information, including names, birthdates, addresses, government IDs (such as driver’s licenses and Social Security numbers), and financial details like bank account and card numbers. The results of this review were finalized on July 15, 2024, and efforts are ongoing to notify affected individuals.
