Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Cherry Health data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Cherry Street Services, Inc., a Michigan health care provider that does business as Cherry Health, recently experienced a data security incident involving unauthorized access to its systems. The incident occurred on December 21, 2023, leading to a network disruption and hampering Cherry Health's ability to access some of its systems.
Personal information of individuals, including names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, health insurance details, patient ID numbers, provider names, dates of service, medical information, financial account details and Social Security numbers, may have been compromised. In total, 184,372 individuals are believed to have been affected by this breach.
Though the Cherry Health data breach was initially reported in February in an online notice addressed to patients and former staff members, the provider is now sending letters directly to affected individuals.
