CF Medical Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach impacting CF Medical.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were affected.
CF Medical, a debt collection agency in the healthcare field, has announced a data breach involving its vendor, Financial Business and Consumer Solutions (FBCS), which previously provided services to CF Medical. This cybersecurity incident, which occurred between February 14 and February 26, 2024, allowed unauthorized access to FBCS's systems, where attackers could view or potentially acquire sensitive information. The breach, which was discovered on February 26, prompted action to secure the network and an investigation with forensic specialists to assess the scope and nature of the event. In July 2024, FBCS revealed that personal information, including names and potentially health information, might have been compromised.
The data breach affecting CF Medical reportedly impacted 626,396 individuals. The company stressed that the incident was limited to its former vendor's systems and "at no point impacted CF Medical's systems, network or technology."
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force CF Medical to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
