The Center for Vein Restoration has disclosed a data security incident that may have compromised the protected health information of patients, as well as the personal information of both current and former employees. The incident was first detected on October 6, 2024 when the center was alerted to unusual activity within its IT systems.

The data breach may have exposed sensitive information including patients' names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, medical record numbers, diagnoses, lab results, medications, treatment details, health insurance information, provider names, dates of treatment, and financial data. Employee information related to their employment may also have been affected.

According to a report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 446,094 people are affected by the Center for Vein Restoration data breach.
