Cencora and Lash Group Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Cencora and Lash Group data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Drug wholesaler and contract research firm Cencora and its affiliate Lash Group are sending notices of a February 2024 data breach that may have exposed individuals’ personal and health information.
The data breach involved information the companies had through their partnerships with organizations in connection with patient support programs, a notice posted on Lash Group’s website states.
According to the data breach notices being sent to affected individuals, Cencora and Lash Group work with pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies and healthcare providers “to facilitate access to therapies" through drug distribution, patient support and services, and more.
A handful of affected pharmaceutical companies, a few of which are named in the Cencora data breach notices, have reported the incident to the California attorney general’s office.
These companies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Incyte Corporation
- Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. f/k/a Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc.
- Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation
- Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
- Bayer Corporation
- Acadia Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
- Genentech, Inc.
- Bristol Myers Squibb
It’s important to note, however, that the breach took place on Cencora’s systems, with exposed information potentially including full names, addresses, dates of birth, diagnoses, medications and prescriptions.
Cencora originally disclosed the data breach in a Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) dated February 21, 2024. According to the report, the company discovered that data possibly containing personal information had been exfiltrated from its information systems.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Cencora and Lash Group to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
