Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the CBIZ data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services, Inc., a business services provider whose clients include various organizations and retiree health and welfare plans, experienced a data breach when an unauthorized party exploited a vulnerability on one of its web pages and accessed information in certain databases between June 2 and June 21, 2024. The breach, discovered on June 24, involved personal information including names and Social Security numbers related to retiree health and welfare plans from multiple CBIZ clients. CBIZ initiated an investigation with cybersecurity experts and began mailing notice to affected individuals on August 28, 2024.
According to a report provided to the Maine Attorney General's Office, the CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services data breach impacted several CBIZ clients, including Central Pennsylvania Teamsters; Knoll, Inc.; Liberty Utilities; Sanofi; and Sanofi Pasteur.
