Cardiovascular Consultants Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Cardiovascular Consultants data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On September 29, 2023, Cardiovascular Consultants (CVC) discovered that it experienced a cybersecurity incident, resulting in the unauthorized access, encryption and theft of patient information. After taking steps to contain the incident and launching an investigation, CVC learned that the attack started on or before September 27, 2023.
The compromised data may have included current and former patients’ names, mailing addresses, dates of birth, demographic and contact information, emergency contact information, Social Security numbers, driver’s license and state ID numbers, insurance policy and guarantor information, diagnosis and treatment details, and medical or billing records.
Financial guarantors on patient accounts may have also had their names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and email addresses exposed. For policyholders/insurance subscribers on patient accounts, the data breach may have involved names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and insurance policy information, such as group or policy numbers.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Cardiovascular Consultants to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
