Byte Federal Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Byte Federal data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On November 18, 2024, Bitcoin ATM operator Byte Federal Inc. discovered a data breach involving unauthorized access to one of its servers due to a vulnerability in third-party software. The Byte Federal data breach exposed customers' sensitive personal information, including names, birthdates, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, government-issued IDs, Social Security numbers, transaction activity, and user photographs.
The company is working with an independent cybersecurity team to conduct a forensic investigation and is sending notice to affected individuals. According to a report provided to the Maine Attorney General's Office, an estimated 58,000 people may have been impacted by the Byte Federal data breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Byte Federal to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
