Brunswick Hospital Center, an acute inpatient psychiatric facility in Amityville, New York, discovered suspicious activity on its computer network on September 3, 2024. In response, the hospital secured its systems and initiated an investigation with cybersecurity specialists. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access occurred between July 17 and August 6, 2024, during which certain data was accessed or copied.
The potentially impacted information varies by individual and may include names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers, service dates, patient IDs, procedure codes and costs, provider details, diagnoses, health insurance information, claims and payment details for healthcare services.
