Branhaven Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Branhaven data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Branhaven Security Incident: What Happened?
Branhaven Motors Inc., which operates the Branhaven Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Branford, Connecticut, has reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to its computer systems between September 9 and September 10, 2024.
Upon detecting the breach, Branhaven Motors contained the situation and engaged cybersecurity experts for an investigation. Following a forensic investigation, it was determined in April 2025 that personal information may have been present in affected systems. Specifically, names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account details, payment card numbers, and health information may have been compromised, though exposed data varies by individual.
Branhaven began notifying potentially affected individuals on May 20, 2025 using available contact information.
According to a report submitted to the Maine Attorney General's Office, the Branhaven Motors data breach affected 11,774 individuals.
What You Can Do
If your information was exposed in the data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Branhaven to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
