Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA), a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring services for young people, reported a security incident that impacted its network on March 28, 2023.
After an investigation, it was determined on November 15, 2023 that an unauthorized party had gained access to files containing consumers' personal information, including full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver's license numbers, payment card numbers, financial account details, and medical and health insurance information.
The exposed information varied depending on the individual, and BBBSA began sending notice to affected consumers around November 22, 2023.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
