Berman & Rabin Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Berman & Rabin data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Debt collection law firm Berman & Rabin, P.A. recently announced a data breach involving potential unauthorized access to personal information. The incident was initially detected on July 8, 2024, when suspicious activity was found on the firm's computer systems, including encrypted files. An investigation revealed that an unknown actor had access to certain systems between July 5 and July 8, 2024, potentially acquiring sensitive data.
According to a notice provided to the Maine Attorney General, it was confirmed on October 8, 2024 that personal information including names, Social Security numbers, and financial account details may have been compromised in the Berman & Rabin data breach. In response, the firm has secured its systems, alerted federal law enforcement, and started notifying the 151,944 individuals potentially affected by the breach.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Berman & Rabin to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
