AutoZone Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting AutoZone.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
AutoZone, a company that specializes in automotive replacement parts, recently reported a security breach involving a third-party secure file transfer application called MOVEit. The incident, which has since been contained, resulted in the compromise of personal information belonging to almost 185,000 customers.
AutoZone says it became aware that an unauthorized third party exploited a vulnerability in the MOVEit application and extracted certain data from its system. This vulnerability has reportedly affected over two thousand organizations worldwide.
Following an investigation of the incident that concluded on November 3, 2023, it was determined that the acquired data included personal details such as the individual's name, Social Security Number, and in some cases, date of birth.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force AutoZone to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
