Amgen Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach impacting Amgen.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were affected.
Biopharmaceutical company Amgen Inc. recently informed individuals of a data breach at service provider Sirva Relocation, a moving services company, which may have compromised their personal information. Unauthorized access to Sirva's systems, detected on September 29, 2023, occurred between August 16 and October 17, 2023, allowing unknown actors to copy certain files. An investigation confirmed that personal data of individuals connected to Sirva and its clients, including Amgen, was accessed. Amgen's own systems were not impacted by the data breach.
According to a letter addressed to the New Hampshire attorney general, Amgen was notified by Sirva of certain affected individuals on April 10, 2024, and further information on additional impacted individuals was provided on August 8, 2024.
The personal information compromised in the data breach affecting Amgen potentially includes names, contact information, non-U.S. addresses, financial details, health and employment information, government-issued ID numbers, Social Security and taxpayer identification numbers, dates of birth, and loan information.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Amgen to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
