Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the American Trust data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
AT Retirement Services, LLC and American Trust Company are alerting consumers to a 2024 data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal information.
In mid-August 2024, American Trust, which provides recordkeeping, administrative and other services to employer-sponsored and qualified retirement plans, detected unusual activity within its email environment, prompting an investigation. This investigation revealed unauthorized copying of certain emails between August 8 and August 13, 2024. A review confirmed on December 5, 2024 that sensitive information belonging to American Trust customers was compromised.
Data at risk in the American Trust data breach includes names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account numbers, and birth dates. Affected individuals are now being notified via mail.
