ALN Medical Management Data Breach:
Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach impacting ALN Medical Management.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were affected.
In March 2024, ALN Medical Management, which provides revenue cycle and billing services to healthcare providers, discovered unauthorized access to systems hosted by a third-party service provider. Between March 18 and March 24, 2024, certain files and folders were accessed or taken by an unauthorized actor.
The breach, which did not affect ALN’s internal systems, potentially exposed sensitive information, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers, financial details, medical information, and health insurance data, according to a report provided to the Texas Attorney General's office.
A review and analysis of the impacted files was completed by January 31, 2025, allowing ALN to notify affected clients and individuals. A report to the Massachusetts Attorney General indicates that the breach involved at least four ALN clients, identified as National Spine and Pain in Frederick, Maryland; Inpatient Physician Associates in Lincoln, Nebraska; Hoag Clinic in Costa Mesa, California; and Allied Physicians Group of Melville, New York.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force ALN Medical Management to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
