If you have purchased flash memory products directly from SanDisk, you may be eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that SanDisk violated federal antitrust laws by making false representations to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in obtaining patents on its flash memory devices. The flash memory products (which are often referred to as “NAND flash memory”) are used in many electronic products, such as digital cameras, camcorders, USB drives, mobile phones, GPS and gaming devices.
According to the lawsuit, SanDisk used these fraudulent patents to improperly exclude fair competition in the U.S. marketplace for flash memory products. The lawsuit also alleges that SanDisk established its monopoly position by enforcing these patents against its competitors and by threatening the competitors’ customers. These unfair business practices have allegedly caused direct purchasers of flash memory products to pay artificially inflated prices.
To participate in the lawsuit, you must have purchased a flash memory device, such as a flash memory card for a camera, directly from SanDisk. If you own or operate a camera shop or electronics store and you purchased flash memory devices directly from SanDisk, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
